Found something today in our archiv. The photos must be around 1895 and we have some more from them. Any idea for the two bagpipe players? The second one is Edinburgh, then the bridge over the firth of forth and the last one is the question: Why under scotland???

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, that final one is a Colour Sergeant of the Scots Guards. Although, interestingly, the collar badge looks more like the Coldstream Garter star than the Scots Guards' thistle.

Where are all the Jocks? Ok so Ron's busy contacting Moses about his windfall but what about the rest?

I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest the two pipers are from the Seaforth Highlanders based on the shoulder wings.

And Ron, the other two??? ;) I had a bet with my superior that the scots here will know what we see on the both photos. So your help is needed. We can share the profit next year in a "Biergarten" in Ingolstadt :)

Hi Ulrich
Great photos, thanks for sharing.

I drink Leffe Ruby....cheers:)

The pipers are Scots Guards.
Roger, (English), thought Seaforths because of the wings, and he'd a right wally;):) ).
Seaforth Highlanders wear Seaforth Tartan which is much more manly and stylish of course than the Royal Stewart portrayed on these kilts and assorted biscuit tins.

The stocking hose are of Guards pattern too.

The Scots Guards badges on sporran plaid and glengarry are more telling, plus of course the unique royal silver embroidery on the jacket front opening seam.

You can see the same uniform here as a tinted postcard
Scots Guards Piper.

The tunic is also Blue not Piper Green as in the Seaforths.

Hope this helps.

Still love you Roger
