Mark, I think its a pure case of, 'Smilie or not to Smilie'. The workaround does the job, although all the emoticons, get 'mullered'.

I can understand that will remain a problem.....OK here's what I suggest,...again it will be a bit fiddly but every time you quote something and you wish to add an emoticon you'll have to go through the process explained earlier regarding quotes and then take a selfie of yourself expressing which ever emotion you wish to convey at that point and simply download that image and insert it into the appropriate place within the copied and pasted text.
May be a bit of a extra mucking around but atleast you'll get your point across, which is after all the whole idea......

Unfortunately all my 'Selfies', will look the same which is similar to a 'Bull-Dog, chewing a Wasp', even the happy one's !! I fear I might get banned from this site if I ventured down this avenue even though I am innocent.

I followed Mark's work around some time ago in order to be able to 'quote', but of course lost the option of including smilies.

Were you able to 'quote', type your message and add the smilies without undoing anything first?
