I just thought of a incident where a certain chap named Jesus in approximately 34 AD, took a fish caught by some one, and a loaf baked by someone, didn't have to pay for it .... and then recasted into thousands.
I know he didn't get any money (poor naive fellow) , but a profit in reputation was huge...;)
Merry Christmas folks, all is well.
Gaudin, I seem to remember a fellow that sounds alot like your bloke also pinched a well known Roman icon, ( two bits of wood forming a geometrical figure consisting of two lines or bars perpendicular to each other, dividing one or two of the lines in half.) and flagrantly used it as his own brand symbol for the basis of a new worldwide religion which would go on to become the biggest money spinner in world history...........silly Romans, it was Jesus that nailed it.

Your average working joe would never have the chance to own something like the Lionheart figure..The very fact it was a limited edition, quite apart from the headache inducing pricepoint put it outside most modellers wish lists..
I am biased though..As a Anime figure painter I have no choice but to get resin recasts. The original pieces are vinyl..pre-painted..very limited issue and most are sold in advance in the Far East. Even more true when talking about figures from as early as 3 or 4 years ago.You really have no choice but repops..
In the end most manufacturers can't be bothered with a long costly courtcase with an uncertain outcome..Better to bite the bullet and add a few pennies to the original price..
It really is a bit arrogant to compare a white metal figure to a Dali or Van Gogh......Better that than fake medicine or Aircraft parts...

Yes you are. You are using an unlicensed version of the software thus not paying for its use. If you took a hire car because nobody was around to serve you does that make it right. Your recommendations come along with the "if he can get it for nothing why cant I brigade".

And you have completely missed the point of what I said. Just to make it clear one more time.

I said if in the case given photoshop, if someone downloaded a copy they are only denying adobe of any financial reward if tey would have bought photoshop if they did not down load it for free, in the example I gave if it was not possible to Down load it the the downloader would not the buy the official product because it was out of their price range, in that case adobe would get zero income. But they would get free recomendation from the down loader, so they do gain something, rather than on other company producing a low cost alternative getting the money for their product.

I am not saying it is ok to do so, but just being a bit more realistic about how thing really work in the real world.
I can't afford a Mclaren, but man would I love to have one. I know of a guy who owns one but recently had a stroke andmay not be able to drive it any more. So I guess I'll just sneak onto his estate and help myself to his McLaren. He can't use it so I'm not depriving him. I won't be depreiving McLaren of any money since I can't afford one.

Well, that's not quite how the story goes. Jesus asked other to donate some food for the masses. He got a bit and passed that around. When the left overs were collected, there were baskets full. These were free will donations, so if Alan Ball sculpts a figure for me and says I can recast it to my heart's content, I'm okay to do that. If he doesn't say that, I'm not.

To the loaves and fishes, I'm betting alot of people had food with them and were embarassed at what they had and were not initially willing to share. A good PR guy turned that into the miracle we all know.

And everybody will say what a fantastic car you have so win win for Mclaren. You will happily recommend the car. :D
