This is my version of the Pegaso knight
released a few years back.
It took a Silver at the 09 Long Island show
and a bronze at the 09 Chicago show.
Painted in oils, Metallics in acrylics, printers ink.
Thanks to my pal Barry Biediger for taking the shots.
Thanks for looking.All comments welcome!
Steve

Thanks for your warm comments guys.
Marc, I am sure you can paint a nice version of this figure
based on what you have been painting lately..go for it..
though I could never have the patience to repaint a piece..
there is a cabinet full of potential repaints though...lol
Happy Holidays to all!

Awesome job on this figure. I have wanted to paint this one for a long time but it is very intimidating, you have done an incredible job.

Hey Steve! I saw this one in Chicago...great job on it! (y)

That's awesome you were able to go to the Long Island Show!! :)

Hi Mike! Hi Wendy! Thanks so much for your comments.
Wendy I didn't make the show but Barry did and he brought the figure there.
Hopefully, next year I will be able to attend Long Island -
long overdue for me, but at least the knight was there! LOl.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Really nice work with the oils Steve and i think the awards were well deserved, this is a very appealing figure.

Very nice! (y) I have this figure on my short list of "to do figures". What did you do with the cape? Did you paint a design on it? I'm a bit reluctant to do so simply because of my painting skills at the moment.

Thanks Jim, Steve and Tommi...you are all too kind. Jim, for the cape, I simply left it a plain deep
red (accurate enough I think) and played with the shadows and highlights as I could not find
any reference other than Pietro's design he did a few years back-and there was no way
I was touching that design!. Perhaps, I can bug Barry to take a rear shot and post it here for you.

Jim, you need to knock it off dude. Seeing your work lately, there is nothing lacking in your painting skills.

I've been racking my brain and looking through all my old text books and books on art history in my personal library trying to find the inspiration for this piece. I know I've seen it somewhere and if I remember correctly, it was pretty colorful. A great example of the neo classical fantasy parade armor that shows up in paintings, sculptures, tournaments and panoply of the period. I've found similarly styled armors, but not that one. I know I've seen it, I just can't find it. arrrgh.

I found this wonderful BIG book on Amazon several years back.

I found it very useful and inspritational as well. Lots of ideas in in this book as far as painting this BEAUTIFUL figure. I personally found this figure to be one of Andrea Jula's better ones. Some might deplore the historical accuracy part bit when you read about this time period and the armor only a few artisans could make, pretty much all of it was fictional anyway.

Also in this book I found what I thought to be the inspiration for Pegaso's figure. It was several drawings and a few paintings. Not one in particular. I could be wrong though as I'm certianly no expert on this subject matter.
