Thanks again for having a look.(y) I'll have a go at locating a different head, for the girl. I think she looks more like a dwarf.o_O Ron I've got a length of track coming, so they will be either going on, or leaving the train.
Cheers,
Carl.

Very interesting project and exciting to follow.

An alternative thought artistically ( and not a call to change anything - just consider) - could paint the germans in colours to illustrate how lifes of those people were forced " out of reality ".
As I say - not a critique - just a theoretical thought to discuss.

Carl. A very emotive subject and you are handling this very delicately and correctly. I understand what the others are saying about a splash of colour but to me that would be too Stephen Spielberg. For me I would stick with the grey tones. Are all the figures commercial or have you modelled any yourself?

Thanks again. Here's a little up date. I think I should have used a little bit less track, but that it now. (thanks Mark) I don't know whether to put the girl next to the track or to the front of the piece? I managed to find a head that was a bit more in keeping.
Carl.

Looking really good Carl, figures nice and tight together, for me i would keep the little girl next to the German officer,as you have in one of your settings ,go with your first instincts though "generally the best one"

I would place the girl in amongst the other figures, visually she will become the centre of the piece just because of the red... Perhaps she could literally be at the very centre of the base?

Track looks good ;)

Hi Carl,
Just popped in to keep up to date, looks excellent, keep up the good work. If you are looking for a new head for the girl have you tried the Masterbox line? they do a range of Eastern and Western European civilians.
cheers
Richie

Great piece of work Carl, you seem to have brought the subject to life. I think the little girl helps but in the Shindler Movie wasnt the wee girl always in the background so you had to search through the figures to find the colour. The new head helps her.
Wouldnt add anything else but did you try with your computer to find how it would look with the yellow Star of David being the only colour?

Lovely work
Don

Carl:

You do not have to exactly replicate what was in the movie Shindlers List for
this outstanding piece to be a presentation full of drama, tension and full of
pathos; that draws us back to the memory of that horrific time.

For me the key word is pathos! You want the viewer to feel the impact of
what this group of figures really means, what they represent. So for me,
IMHO, the little girl with the new head needs to be in the front with the little
boy behind. The reason, seeing a little girl in this environment tears at our
hearts and makes us feel the pain more deeply. Yes, a little boy does that too.
But IMHO, not with the same intensity that having that little girl front and
center would have. This is not a piece that people would be unmoved in
viewing. You're going after a dramatic effect. And so to me that means the
little girl is in the front next to the woman who may be her mother.

That is my take on it, my friend,

I agree. I think that placing the little girl in the centre of the piece will draw the onlooker's eyes right into it.

Thanks again for having a look, and dropping a line. I should have this finished tomorrow, and after listening to your views, and a bit of trial and error. I've put the little girl front and centre.
Cheers,
Carl.(y)
