Hola Neil!

I love it! It has so much character and it is very artsy. Not bad at all for one days work! The chain mail looks especially nice!

Looking forward to see it completed.

I just had another look at that chainmail John, very nicely done, especially on a large scale bust...have you a photo of the tool? I'm curious to what it's like, as I'm sure a few others might be.

Thank you.

Roy.

Thanks Roy...

Picture did not come out well so I made a sketch. hope it is understandable and helpful. I got the tool by copying one that Peter Twist (Canada... I beleive) made years ago - Like 25+/-

Hope that helps!

That's some great info John..and thanks for taking the trouble to do the drawing..it looks like a very good idea, and I think the result that you've obtained on your bust reflects how proficient you are with the tool.

That chainmail is going to be great when it's painted.

Thanks again.

Roy.

Hi John, I'd just like to add that I really enjoy the style in which you sculpt. Your creations have a great feel and character to them... may I use the word "whimsy." I hope that will be accepted with the compliment intended. Robert
Thank you for the kind words.

Must be the Celt in me, Hebridies Scots by ancestory - Isle of Barra... I think I am a storyteller by nature. It is how I teach, how I write and how I model or sculpt. I love the detail and the creating, but always the story is the key to me and my work.

Thanks you again!

John

Excellent stuff Neil. Thanks for taking the time to scetch out how you made the tool, very useful!
Thanks Anders - glad to share what ever limited knowledge this old brain has remaining...

I first saw this tool demostarted by Peter Twist, who is a Master Figure Maker, particularly in Middle Ages and Older figures.

Neill

Here isthe Semi Finished... Done, but now I need to go through the observation period for corrections-- leave it alone for a day and then start looking at it in a mirror for a new perspective on it.
