I hate to be the bearer of sad news, but I was informed that John Regan
passed away yesterday evening.
John was a very talented sculptor and artist.
He was a Judge at Euro Militaire, where I'm sure many of you will know him from.
He also ran the Faversham model club, of which I'm a member.
I believe he was also heavily involved with the BMSS.
He had a great passion for the hobby, and will be missed my many.

RIP John. Thank you for everything.
My deepest condolences to his family

This is sad news indeed. I always liked John. His presence always made even a mediocre show that little bit better. A lovely bloke who knew what he was on about and always had a kind smile and knowledgable insight. He will be sorely missed.
RIP John, my sincere condolences to all his loved ones. He is very fondly remembered.

Such sad news , a true character respected wholly when judging and a massive amount of knowledge always happy to share

A lifetime member of the British Model Soldier Society and such a supporter , editor of the magazine

A talented modeller

Condolences and sympathy to all family and friends

RIP John you'll be much missed

Here's a great picture from the Faversham FB page of John ( centre with fine facial hair/glasses ) surrounded by other members

I am saddened indeed by this news. I knew John both as a stalwart of the BMSS and through Euromilitaire. He was, as has already been said, a real old-time gentleman, always ready to spend time chatting and exchanging ideas. I know his friends at Faversham and elsewhere will miss him greatly. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Thought I would share this from the Faversham club

Hi everyone. Unfortunately we have some very sad news.
The founder and driving force of the Faversham Military Modelling Group, John Regan, passed away on the afternoon following of Friday September 8th. His family were with him.
John formed the FMMG 39 years ago with other like minded figure modellers and was a source of advice and encouragement to others for all those years.
He mostly specialised in parade ground style figures and did a lot of his own sculpting, no easy task. But he was always interested in other people's figures and models, whether they were aircraft, afv's, ships, flats or the more modern scfi and fantasy figures and kits.
He admired them all and was always willing to help others advance their skills, but above all, enjoy the hobby, that was foremost in his mind, enjoy what you build or paint.
As some of you will know, John was a judge at Euro Militaire and other shows which were held at Folkestone and had the respect of everyone who came into contact with him.
But it is the group he started all those years ago, the Faversham Military Modelling Group, where he will be missed so much. Our aim is to carry on the good work and atmosphere which he was so well known for.
The one word that keeps cropping up when people have been remembering John was, gentleman. He was a gentleman of the highest order.
He seemed to enrich the lives of those he met, always a kind word, always a smile.
For those of us who were lucky enough to enjoy his friendship, we consider ourselves very fortunate indeed.
It goes without saying that we send our deepest sympathy and condolences to John's family at this most difficult of times. Our thoughts are with them.
