Im trying to recreate a cracked and crazed paint finish on the shield face. My research showed the shields were often faced with leather then painted. The lion is in its undercoat stage. What do you guys think?

New pics+paint mixes on there way to medrom .

Looking gorgeous! The lion looks spectacular (y) the 'puffy' look of the lion on the tunic is that sculpted or painted?

THanks Gordy. I do worry too much about the image quality, but I want to give as fair a representation as possible. What you see online is what you hopefully get. The lion was very lighly engraved on the figure, not much was left after primer, undercoat and oil painting. I tried to give it a cloth texture and for the tunic, a woolen one.

Hi Hardy,
I've been following your step by step of the Bruce with much enjoyment.
Your technique is unique , inspiring and refreshing.
The Bruce is beautifully sculpted, but your brush is giving it life.
Take care and keep up the great work.
Roc.
