I have a tough time rolling putty (aves sculpt, miliput) flat. I have used a brass tube, wooden tube but what I find that the putty is so thin that basically bends itself on the tube nearly touching when I try and peel it off it always sticks. I have used baby powder on the roller and the putty but no luck I wonder if I am not using enough. What is the best material to avoid the putty sticking metal or wood? Any suggestions would be helpful. BTW I have also waited up to 40 mins for the putty to become harder.

I cut a plastic sandwich bag on 2 sides then liberally sprinkle talcum powder inside. I usually wait 15 minutes or so before putting the putty (Aves) inside the bag. I then roll it with a small wood handled plastic roller that the missus found for me at a garage sale. Make sure that you work on as flat and even a surface as you can. I have square cut piece of tempered glass that does the trick. Works very well for me.
