Hi guys,

Now that I have my painting mojo back, I've dived into a bust that I recently bought and always loved; Castle Miniatures 200mm Roman Vexilliarus. Most of you know I have a weakness for Imperial Roman figures.

The bust is very simple to build. You add the cheek guards and its done.:D

I painted the base colours in acrylic and then apply thin washes of oils over the acrylics to add depth and tone to the colours.

The face is more or less finished and now I'm moving on to the metallic colours on the cheek guards and the helmet. Aft that I'll tackle the bear hide.

As always I welcome any comments or questions.:)

Thanks Nap and Brian,

It's almost finished now. Just a few minor tweaks to go and then its time to pack up the tools and convert my hobby room into a spare bedroom so my mother can stay with us for a week. :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Brilliant stuff Tony....I love this bust, best face you've ever done imo.

Yeah as if it's only a week?.............:cautious:

That's coming along very nicely.
I'll be keeping an eye on your finishing of the bearskin as I'm about to start painting the fur on my CM viking.

Cheers,
Andrew
