Hi Joe , cracking art work all of it complements what is a simple but well thought out sculpt lets the observer take the journey so to speak , and yet again understated but excellently put together ground work which adds so much but does not detract from the figure ,superb
Cheers Chris

Hey Chris, funny you made mention about the ground work not detracting. I was right at the verge of putting in some palms/ferns, but when I posed them on the base I immediately felt they didn't look right, and therefore decided to not use them. Thanks for commenting!

Sorry to respond so late Joe, the figure is very simple, which I like, but the painting looks terrific, as does your groundwork. A great looking piece Joe, I like it. Regards, SG:)(y)(y)

Howdy Rick, thanks for having a look see at this Ronin and commenting, and I appreciate your words of praise!

Glad you like him Ron! Ya, his clothes are tattered and torn like the peasants they were.

Joe

Actually both types of clothing would be correct. When a clan was disbanded by the Shogun, all samurai regardless of rank would become masterless (ronin). So it was possible for high retainers and bushi (low class) to both be what we would call today free agents.:) Of course if they couldn't re-attach themselves with another clan, their money would eventually run out.
