Thanks you Ross, Mark & Stefano, I appreciate you following my progress and taking the time to comment.

Here are my latest pics. The red uniform colour has been built up in six very thin layers to ensure good colour coverage without excessive paint build up on the surface. The green collar tabs and sleeves have also been base coated in Flat Green and the hair and eyebrows done in Burnt Umber.

I've started to lay in the mid shadow tone on the uniform, using Flat Red over Vermillion. Dark shadows will be Flat Red with a touch of Black. Highlights will be Vermillion with a touch of Medium Flesh.

I still need to add upper highlights on the face and hands, and add another deep shadow wash over the hands.

Still a very long way to go, but I'm really enjoying this bust and sharing these progress pics with you all.

Looking extremely lovely mate.........the face is starting to "pop out" sort of now that the surrounding colours are blocked in, even though you said that it still needs tweaking!!!

Keep him wet :p

Ray ;)

Hi Tony

A quick tip for the shadows on the red, use a dark green instead of black, you will find the shadows look a lot better

Dave

Hi! Tony.
Your fresh tone is impressive.
The color of the uniform is also wonderful.
I'm looking forward to passage of your work.

Carl, Marc, Ray, Dave, Mitsutaka, Stralis and Joe,

I appreciate your generous comments. Thanks guys.

Dave, thanks for the tip on adding dark green to red to create a shadow tone. I will certainly use that.

Hi Marc, thank you for your tip.;) I've used Vermillion as the base coat for the tunic, so to highlight the tunic I intend to add a very small amount of Medium Flesh to Vermillion.

Thank you Marcel, my progress is slow at present. I've been tweaking the face and hair tonight, trying to sharpen up some of the highlights and adding catch lights to the eyes. I've also been blending some of the transition zones to eliminate any harsh lines.

There's still a great deal to do, but I'm pleased with my progress so far.

Nice work so far Tony. I had seen this bust and I was thinking on it as a possible purchase for the future. Can you give me some references about it's measures or post a comparison size picture along something familiar? It could be very helpful for me to decide...
Regards
FeR

Hi Carl, yes mate the dirtying-up process has begun.

Thanks Jason, I'm still fine tuning the flesh but I'm glad you like itso far.

Hola Fernando, thank you for your comments. I'ts a standard sized 1/9th scale bust (not much taller than a 54mm figure), slightly larger than a typical Young Miniatures bust which is usually 1/10th scale. Its a superb bust and I can highly recommend it to you.

Here's where I stopped tonight. Most of the work tonight was on shading the tunic. Still much to do. My thanks to Dave for the tip about using Dark Green instead of black to create a good shade colour for red.;)

Tony, looking good so far, great looking face . Are you staying with the goldish colour base or will you be giving it a dark wash to look like bronze ?
Great SBS.
Cheers Ken
