We are pleased to announce the release of the "Storm Child", sculpted by the late Roy Hunt.
This figure represents a little Japanese girl on the morning of 6th August 1945, roaming the outskirts of Hiroshima city which saw the first use of the atomic bomb as a weapon. With only a battered umbrella and a surgical mask for protection, she bears witness to what must be a harrowing and unnerving scenario.

The kit consists of 18 pieces: 14 in white metal, 2 resin parts and 2 rods.
The scale is 90 mm but the actual figure stands to approximately 50mm in height.

The original sculpt by Roy was in 1:35 scale and won the Best of Show at Euromilitaire 2007. Roy's family felt it was appropriate to release this kit to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Roy's untimely passing. All proceeds from sales will go to the Hunt family.

The Storm Child is available online and will be available from our stand at Euromilitaire.

Thanks for looking.
Matt & Celine

That will be a popular release, especially given the memorial and charitable aspect. Good luck with it. It is very evocative as well.

Can I reserve one for Euromilitaire? I really miss him and I can't believe yet he was gone...
Thank you very much for shariing.

All my best regards,

MJ

I met him just once- in 2007 at Euro just after he had been told that he had got Best of Show for this piece! He looked stunned I recall. I was shocked the next year to hear he had gone.

Hello MJ - Yes definitely, we'll put one aside for you. Thanks for your support.

Folks, if you only get one figure this year, make it this one.

I know first-hand not just the skill alone, but the care and love that went into this.

Competition tables are empty without one.

Just bought mine.

Roy, I think of you whenever I pick up the Magic Sculp.

Thankyou ;)

I think that's a lovely gesture to support riys family and great release,I remember the original,it was beautifully done and it captured that terrible event perfectly,I think this will be very popular,10/10

A brilliant sculptor and a true gentleman.Loved to chew the fat with him over a beer.A nicer man you could not meet!

I didn't know Roy personally but I know he had many friends in the hobby and was a very popular character.

I hope the figure sells well for the Hunt family, and it's a nice tribute.

I thought the 54mm version was so evocative and beautifully sculpted; I just ordered the 90mm version. Roy left us far too early; he was an artist.
