This a 1/10 bust by Dolman Miniatures, depicting a major of the Royal Tank Corps in the First World War. It is of course a portrait of Benedict Cumberbatch as he appeared in the film 1917.

So he survived the Yeomanry Charge in Warhorse and popped up in the RTC in 1917! Nicely done. Mind you, Colin Firth has been a Roman General, Admiral of the Fleet (King George V), Colonel (1917) and is nw a lowly Lt Cdr (Mincemeat).......................

Good old Benny. He's been a British officer in Parade's End, Warhorse and 1917, and I suppose it's hard to top Smaug in The Hobbit.

Evening Peter
Lovely work Peter
The drapery with the bland palette is cracking and all the nuggets of colour with the leather gloves, binoculars, belts, badges and collar tabs really raise the finish.
The sculpt has really caught Benedict to a T
Your painting is the icing on the cake
Well done
Hope you are still squeezing in some bench-time if the house is still busy?
I picked up 4 Mitch busts and they all seem pretty good too.
Not back at £9.99 each
Enjoy the next bust

Hi Steve and many thanks.

It's a great sculpt and was fun to paint - even the metal parts (helmet and right hand), which I usually dislike. The house is quiet again, so I am able to paint more or less unhindered and have a bust of Julius Caesar on the kitchen table at the moment. I have one more bust lined up, then it will be on to some new 120mm figures (courtesy of my first Civil Service pension payment - I felt I deserved a treat after all those hellish years earning it).

Glad the Mitches busts didn't disappoint - you only have to paint them now!

Well done being a retiree Civil Servant, it took me ages to get mine sorted, but does give me a few shekels each month!

That is the hurdle, getting paint onto a figure!
Everytime I think I can do it tomorrow, something pops up on the ""Honey can you.....................!!
Next scheduled painting day is this Thursday fingers crossed!
Ha Ha to me for planning.

Enjoy your treat
