Miss Roza Shanina, combat soldier
Ken:
You've gotten off to a great start. . . from that very fine photo of the young
combat soldier. It was midway thru the last century, and I was just a young
boy in shorts and knee socks. . . before the age of tennis shoes, (or
sneekers as we now call them) so it is easier to forget about all the human
sacrifices made. . . but for me that photograph brought so much of it back.
I will be eager to see this fine figure develop, as time moves forward.
So I see this as more than just your latest sculpting effort, In my view,
it is also an appropriate way to pay tribute to a hero, to honor her
"last full measure of devotion" — as this dangerous 'business'
took the life of a very young woman.
Best regards to you Ken,
