Well composed vignette and very good painting. Groundwork is very well done.

Top job, Neil (y) You've painted it beautifully, and the groundwork and light dusting on the vehicle convey that sense of a warm Eastern European summers day.

Really nice work mate, makes me want to do some armour again

Thanks Nick ,thats what I was aiming for , nice change from the usual grubby WW2 dios .
Cheers
Neil

Very nice work!
It's pleasant for me to watch such fine painting of these figures!
Can I publish this work on Stalingrad web-site?

Thanks Alexander ! I would be Honored for You to publish it on your web-site .Thank you for making such amazing and unique figures . The whole inspiration for the dio came from that amazing Russian girl !Keep it up and more civilians please !

Cheers

Neil

I think it's terrific. Simple but effective, and tells a story. Great painting on the figures and the vehicle as well.

This is excellent! A simple scene but so effective.
Also, IMHO, your weathering of that well
executed Russian Armored Car is as impressive
as your figure painting. I love the execution of
the fence and greenery, too. First class all around.

The Miami Jayhawk

Thanks Guys . Glad you can see what I was trying to achieve .

Hey mate nicely finished up & good response here, including Alexander's the master artist behind Stalingrad :)
Gotta be happy.

Roadwork is especially nice with flattened, dusty section & more gritty curbing.
Almost can feel her angst walking bare feet over the rocks.

You've hit it outta the park with photos too.
Really get the hang of it.

Stay safe,

Mike

Thanks Mike . Am pleased with the roadwork and a nice change from just painting figures .
Starting to get to grips with the SLR , photos are definitely improving .
Will post some pics of a new Steamwars figure next week so look out for it .

Cheers
Neil

Nicely done, from the finish on the armored car to your figures, and to the composition of the scene.

Prost!
Brad

Thanks Brad , glad you liked the composition of the scene , I tried to make it viewable from all angles and not just the front .
Cheers
Neil

Thanks Padlych ,the strange markings are patriotic slogans the Russians painted on the side of their armor .
Cheers
Neil

Yeah, i can read this, it's means: "forward to the west". Bud, letted "D" is strange
I'm sorry, but hawe made collage for you:

Thanks Padlych ,I did not know what it said ,I just used the decals that came with the Miniart Kit . Its good to know what it means but cannot explain the D. Thanks for taking the time to let me know its meaning .
Thanks

Mariobusta,

It may be looking like this:
Вперёд! На запад!
or
Вперёд, на запад!
or
ВПЕРЁД! НА ЗАПАД!
and
ВПЕРЁД, НА ЗАПАД!
The letter "e" is used instead of "ё" very often in Russian. This is not mistake. "Вперед" and "Вперёд" are equivalent.

:)

Main issue is that at the moment it says " Go, West!" (ВПЕРЁД ЗАПАД! - encouraging west to go) and needs to say ВПЕРЁД, НА ЗАПАД! - as in Onward to the West or Forward to the west, like Andrej said.

Not a big deal though - very easy to correct. There is a space to add "HA" (can be smaller to fit on the panel ) and letter Д has enough space for a slight tweak.

This is really good, and if it is your first real attempt at groundwork it looks pretty realistic to me, and I would even date it to late summer(y)(y).
Best wishes, Gary.

Superb overall effect , very realistic in its summer atmosphere. I love the warm glow in the cheeks of the girl. Any chance of another photo showing her face in detail as you cant quite see her fully in the wider images?
Cheers
Mat

Thanks Mat , If you go to my profile and look at works in progress ,there is some close up pics of the girl .
Cheers
Neil
