Hi Adrian I like the idea I do think it could work as the fantasy market does this already, with games and figures that go along with it. It might be worth testing this. and see what happens. we have a project that we have had in mind for quite a while and the reason why we have not put it into action was the shear cost of the project. so we shelved it. maybe doing it this way might just give us the impetus to test the water with the kick start.

I will have to take a look at what is involved with kick start and what we would have to do to get the project started and see if it would work. but I do like the idea. maybe keeping the project to a limited edition. would be best and work out some benefits of sponsoring the project things like Certificate, presentation box and the like. I will have a think about it and see what we come up with.

Stu, you can report this to Action Fraud, they will then issue you a crime number(Piracy is a crime) this may give you more leverage with E-Bay if they fail to act.

Unfortunately Action Fraud cannot help. We have reported an avid recaster based overseas. We gave them full details as well as implications on the UK customer base who were being defrauded with inferior quality goods and no after-sales service, besides obviously the whole counterfeiting issue. We have it in black-and-white that Action Fraud are unable to help with such an issue. We advised Ebay when reporting the seller but it was to no avail. So unfortunately that avenue is closed.

That said, someone else might have some success if they wish to try this.

Some of the big names in cosmetics, fashion (Dior, L'Oreal, etc) have tried to take them on but never succeeded - which is wrong in my humble opinion as they are aiding and abetting the crime..

let's face it, ebay is the principle enabler of this. May I suggest one method is to buy the cheapest cheap thing these scumbags sell. Then give it the most negative possible feedback. It may just put off potential further custom for them. Just a thought.

Just a quick Update.

My ebay challenge to the fact that I am the rights owner of my own products with copyright certificates and links to my own products on my website is not going well.

The incompetence is OUTSTANDING.

The lack of care, interest and communication is just unbelievable.

The sellers in question have more rights than I do.

Not giving up though !!!!!!!!!

The outcomes of this and other things will decide Stormtroopers/Troop54 's future.

Good News !!!

After a bit of a battle and standing firm I have managed to get my kits removed from the recasters ebay shops.

I am now registered to the Vero program too and have my rights of ownership.

The struggle continues though !!!

Now to get on and produce something !!!!

well done mate that's great news and just maybe e bay will take more notice when the rest of us tell them what is going on . you have now set a president and one that can be followed. because now it could be looked at as custom practice. meaning they have done it once their for their is a case that can be shown and they would have to follow it as a decision was made with regards another manufacture. so well done mate for being the first to get this done.
