Cheers kev. I have a few projects that are at that "finished but not quite finished" stage, if you know what I mean. I think part of the issue is that I have improved my skills over the last few years and have widened my scope of interest, and certainly the colourful subject ts are a challenge, and now I'm putting the bar higher for myself, looking at a picture and thinking "I can do that better, or I need to fix that..". But if you keep doing that, you never finish anything , so I'm going to accept that some of my projects may not be as good as I would like them to be, but they go in the display case anyway...
And I'm glad that I finally have some work ready to enter in the competition. I'll certainly enter more in the future.
