My latest piece for your appraisal, Pegasos stunning portrait of an Hussar. Decided to try to depict him a little campaign weary rather than pristine.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers, Ron.

Hi Ron, Really nice paint job on a cracking sculpt. I decided I had enough Hussars but I can see I will have to relent on this one!
Really like the way you have handled the cross belt, any tips on how you managed to get the dirty look, what did you use to highlight the Hat?

Keith

Cheers Carl. Thanks Keith, I used oil glazes for the cross belt and dull coated it when dry.
Acrylics were used to hi-lite the colpack over an oil base.
Regards, Ron.

It's gorgeous and very beautiful, Ron.
I think the fresh tone and the color of the uniform are very wonderful.
I congratulate completion.

Mitsutaka.

Nice job. I like the red against the more subdued green jacket. The lace looks cleanly done as well. Thanks for posting!

Matt

Many thanks for your comments Eduardo, I am very pleased you like it, and glad you recognised the regiment as the 8th. It is nice also that you think the colours are good as I spent a lot of time gathering as much colour reference as I could find.
Cheers Gordy, much appreciated.

Nice one
The cross belt looks so much better with a little extra work as it is the only thing that
lets down the original.
my rendition of this one will be finished in a couple of days, only sorry i didnt do some work on the belt, but it is a bit late now ,I think

Why too late Ronnie? As long as the oils are dry, you can re-work it without any problems.
Mine was done last of all so I could balance the 'dirty' look with the rest of the materials.
Cheers, Ron

Hi Ron

Tried to rework the belt and messed up big time, had to rub it down with a
bit of wet and dry,it looked like it was going to be a total disaster but
have made a good recovery, for me this one has had more come backs than
