Thanks everyone, I am both pleased and humbled that so many of you found favour with my efforts on this figure. I think we can all agree that it is much easier to do a decent paint job on a figure when it has been designed and sculpted to such a high degree of expertise. I took the advise offered by Kostas and took a closer look at the natural vegetation in Japan, and I will now concentrate on showing him in a Japanese forest. I already have a lot of ferns, moss and leaves to use so that will make the ground work much easier for me to portray. I will also stop off at the local hobby shop today for some of that Humbrol matt varnish to ensure that only the laquered armour has a shine on it. Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
