Not so long ago my deep dive into the long forgotten elements of the GA came up with three old Mokarex items (scale approximates to Historex figures).
Two (Lazare Hoche and Lazare Carnot) were completed fairly recently, leaving a partially painted Sans-Culotte outstanding. It required a Dettol bath to remove the very old unfinished Humbrol paint (yes, that’s the original version that didn’t gel within a few weeks of opening the tin … Oh Happy Days!).
Following that, the very poor musket (I couldn’t even discern an approximation to the type it was supposed to represent) needed to be replaced. My spares box provided a suitable Airfix one.
The hand was first drilled, then filed with my mousetail file until the musket was able to slip into position. Once fixed, minor gaps were filled with Magic Sculp.
Painting was oils over enamel with Printers inks mixed with oils for the metal items.
This now finishes my foray into the Mokarex element of my GA. I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed working with these "ancient" items.
Cheers,
Andrew
