Thank you for you constructive comment. My blue is darker than the watched at the pics (i don't understand why the photos are so cheaters) but far from the blue-black you show me. My ages aren't napoleonic wars, so i know a little of history for books, but nothing abourt uniforms. For this reason i take the box-art from Nuts Planet and decided to be faithfull to it. http://www.planetfigure.com/threads...renadiers-of-the-guard-from-nutsplanet.77147/ I found darker blues in another french napoleonic figures, so my blue is darker than the box art. I don't know nothing about ranks, so the hat has the braid of two colours, no in white or red, that was easier for me to paint, cause maybe then the galon of the shoulder in red and golden is not correct. Now i know something new, for the next. I'm thinking about repainting, but the bag is glued with Araldit... too much well glued, and hard to appart without destroy.

I encourage everybody to write when there is a mistake. At least to me guys. Accuracy is important for me. No the most important, but a lot.

My lamp for painting is broken since today in the morning, so the pics of the axe are with natural light. Sorry mates. The glove is only with airbrush. All the work with brush must be done someday (first i must look for a good lamp. The power transfomer is broken IMO. I will test it tomorrow)

Hi Fernando.
You know, i paint all with acrylics, and the metal with metallic acrylics. After do it, take oils. In the light side:
With a lot of medium some irregular (3 here) zones with raw umber. Inside, with oil pure, points with raw umber and ochre. Then with a plane brush clean and dry, drag the paint, as the modellers in tanks. The size of the grainy dependes of the dimension of the point. You can blend more ore less with the plane brush. In the top of the lights it has some points in blue.
In the shadow side:
The same, but the irregular zones with black, and the points with raw umber and black. No blues here.

Fernando, te escribo en español porque mi inglés es muy cochambroso y a lo mejor no me explico bien.
Después de hacer el curro con acrílicos del metal con sus luces y sombras, le meto óleos. En la cara de luz:
Con mucho un poco de sombra tostada y mucho disolvente le haces formas irregulares, en mi caso 3 en la hoja. Se seca enseguida porque lo que tarda en secarse la ostia es el óleo, no el disolvente. De todas maneras como tengo poco tiempo le ayudo con e secador de pelo. Luego dentro de las zonas meto puntos de óleo puro en ocre y sombra tostada con la punta del pincel. Más finos los puntos, más pequeño el grano. Luego arrastras con un pincel plano, limpio y seco. No le heches disolvente que te llevas todo. Para limpiarlo pásalo por un trozo de papel y dejará los restos. Cuantas más veces arrastras más sutil es el efecto.
En la parte de más luz le he metido algún punto en azul y he arrastrado para darle tono. Ahí no hay mancha previa.
En la cara de sombra:
Lo mismo, las manchas irregulares con negro, y los puntos con sombra tostada y negro. No meto el azul aquí.
 
Very good technique!!! The results are stunning!!! I must explore more the possibilities of oils in weathering figures. Este busto está quedando fino fino!

Decided for a new lamp, waiting to received it to continue.
Fernando, oils are different to work, and i can't paint nothing with it, but for transparencies and effects are easy to handle and you can erase when make a mistake with the time to dry.
 
Yes, a lot of time ago (15 years) before I quit painting I used to paint skin only with oils and clothes with humbrols!!! Ah, I like the smell of turpentine, it brings me back to those days!
