Hi Fellas!

I'm working around the apron. I think I managed to paint it good enough, at least for my taste... I wanted it look dirty, so I worked the shadows with a kind of dirty, sloppy way to paint. But I think it manage to give the idea out. However I wanted you opinion on if I should work more on it, and if so, what could I do.
Maybe some scratching on it.... dirty will be added later on. Shoot out !!

Hello Pedro, I think the painting of the apron looks great. A few scratches or scuffling would probably work, but that depends on how you plan to dirty it up, to match your groundwork. I like your progress so far. Regards, SG:)(y)(y)

Hi Pedro,
Coming along very nicely.
For me I would some more extreme highlights, not all over but at the top areas and tips of creases and some more darker shadows in selected deep areas.
With the nice base you have I think areas can be pulled out if you know my meaning.
Equally shadows pushing areas back, I would leave the lower area of the apron as is working it to a dirty colour, then when you add the scuffs etc with the grime at the bottom they won't appear so contrast. Some scuffs can also be done in lighter colours, bit like how the afv modellers do their chipping technique.
Just my idea of how I will do mine so obviously go with your prefered way and as said in above posts a lovely piece and following eagerly. The apron is already very nice and the painting clean and neat
Very best wishes
I am also enjoying see how you tackled the build as it is quite a tricky figure to get the brush in once built and you have done very well. I was tempted to leave the apron off until towards the end by may do your way now :)

Thank You SG and Gra ;)

Gra, I think I understood what you mean ;) About the building of the figure, I think that despite some areas are covered it doesn't makes difference.
Besides, personally, I like to build the figure as much as I can... I always fear the joints may be visible.
I'm gonna have to fix a part that gonna need filler, and do that with some painting done it's taunting me. It's the sword and bayonett part. But it's the only way.
I'm curious to see your aproach to this figure ;)

Regards
Pedro

Thanks Pedro
As said you have inspired me :) so when I start on mine again I will post and be good to get some advice.
I like to keep as many parts seperate usually, incase I mess a piece up and only have to re do that piece.
That said I fill joints if I can before I start or do as you said and fill and paint over, I always keep my palettes just incase so I can match colours :), learnt that the hard way.
Best wishes and many thanks

Hi,

I have pics of the gaiters, painted yestertday, after posting the previous pics.
My choice was use light browns to make the highlights of the black gaiters. I was trying to give the idea of dirt. I think i looked good. Besides gives unity with the colour of the back of the apron. BTW, you can see with more detail some parts of the apron.
Hope you like :)
