A Fixture
Hello everyone, I start this new sbs here of the upcoming from the Italian manufacture Alexander Miniature.
I start as always with metal parts, for the mail coat I used an acrylic mix base of glossy black + black and bolt gunmetal (citadel). Then I begin the lights with a mix of silver printer ink + raw umber(oils) next lights with more printer ink sometimes mixing with yellow ochre(oils) and the highlights only with printer ink. For the shadows some washes of black (oils). In the pictures I show the zenith lights all over the mail coat, showing more lights in the top and more shadows on bottom. It is important to use small quantity of printer ink for the final lights to avoid any extra bright on the mail coat.
For the helmet I first painted an acrylic base of black + english uniform + golden brown, after that I used a mix of burnt umber(oils) and gold printer ink, then I started first painting the shadows with purple red mixing with some black and burnt umber (oils). I wait a couple of hours until is kinda dry and start to paint the lights with gold printer ink. Sometimes is necessary to blend a bit the highlights with a bit of raw umber, also to retouch the shadows with a bit of black.
For the chest protector I used the same mix of the helmet but darker, adding small amount of ultrmarine blue (oils) and black.
The leather belts are painting with a mix of english uniform + orange brown and flat earth, lights with orange brown and sunny skintone and after that more sunny skintone and a bit of light flesh. Shadows with cadmium maroon and black and a bit of SS camo black brown
