It is with much trepidation that I post my humble effort here. It is the MMM kit of an Officer of the Scots Fusilier Guards in the Crimea. I would like to thank Keith (Wings 5797) for his encouragement and also the painting technique which I stole for the tunic. I know my faces need more work but I feel I have definitely shown improvement with this one.

The neatness is there alright, next will be shading and highlighting.Well done for showing.
Ralph.

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the comments. I think the flash washed out the shading (I took the picture with my phone). He does look better in the flesh! Thanks again.

Pete

Hi Pete ,

Good on your for posting this and such large pics as well!

Like Ralph says the neatness is there , shading and highs next !...every figure will get better ....

Perhaps try a wash next time over the golds just to give it more depth

My figures look better in the dark ...not the flesh!!

Thanks for sharing

Hello Pete, you have a very clean, crisp and precise painting style that I can only dream of. Pretty much every figure looks better in the flesh.
The best way for you to 'improve' (whatever that means) is to get yourself to a nice friendly show and get hold of a couple of people and get some advice in that way. It's better than doing it online.
