This is my finished Scots Grey Trumpeter from CGS miniatures & Horse head from Siskin miniatures, fixed onto a base made of English Yew,
Painted in oils over an enamel base, the neck of the horse was changed and added to so as to help it blend into the base, also pose of the head was made to be stretching forward and the mouth slightly opened up with teeth and tongue added,
Trumpeter stripes were added to the riders arms in magic sculp, the blanket roll & Valise were sculpted from milliput, the Carbine has been converted from a spare musket, I also decided to add the older version Cap badge of the Scots Greys as a name plate
I must admit this has been a labour of love to build & paint but I'm happy with the end result,
I hope you like it and happy for all comments to be forwarded.
Cheers
Jim(y)

Cor blimey ...where's the rest of the horse then ??

Now then ...I have watched this go from an idea to a bit of wood in the cabinet , sprayed gray ..after much biccy eating and ham and cheese sandwiches and discussing the piece ....

Jimbo has done a great job on this ...the dapple of the horse looks even better in real life , the mouth is particularly impressive ( the horse..not Jimbo's...lol lol ) ...

That together with the clever use of the CGS bust with a couple of additions of the saddle , portmanteau ....much cursing and cajoling .......

Great painting all over

A real pleasure to see this done and the badge adds a nice touch to the base

WELL DONE "legs Evans"

Nap

PS ..no pickle on my sandwiches on Saturday
