Another one I purchased a Bugle Call from Steve at SK, this one a lovely bust from Stuart at Stormtrooper sculpted by Carl Reid of a Sikh Infantryman of the Indian Army in WW1.

If I can find a small enough washer to fix to his turban I shall do him belonging to the 15th Ludhiana Sikh Regt. as in this ref. pic.

As usual I have started with his face in acrylics for his eyes, not that you can see much of them, and Artist's oils for the flesh.

I shall now leave him to dry before continuing with the fungal growth around his chin and under his nose.

Cheers for now,
Geoff

I've checked online and in my bitz box and I suspect that most washers will be too broad (ie between the inner vs outside diameters as below)

Best bet may be to either flatten out an O-ring or cut a section from some thick-wall tubing: a trip to a model railway/engineering shop may well produce results?

Thanks for looking Neil, I will have a look in my old railway toolbox in the garage there may be something in there but weather too bad this afternoon to go to bottom of garden to look.

I do have some plastic tubing that might work but that can wait until tomorrow now.

Geoff,
I know most of Historex is 54mm , but would there be anything in their spares ?
Apart from that great painting , like your spare heads as well (y)
Keep on Painting ,over the Christmas holidays.

Barrie(Newbee)

Thanks Barrie, I did have a load of Historex spares but cannot remember if I threw them out when I had a cleanup, will look tomorrow, great idea.

I wondered what to do with the heads and hats so thought it would be a good use and a bit of practice.

Christmas Day and Boxing Day we have friends here but no doubt I shall be having a few hours painting the other days.

Cheers
Geoff

Hi Geoff

Great fleshtones on this and a fine subject matter ...interesting the Regt choice ...I would use putty for the circle ...is it a badge ?

Following with interest

Happy benchtime

Thanks Nap, I am pleased with his face too, nice sculpting helps. The choice of Regt. just means it's different with the metal circle which is just plain and it is a symbol, but a larger one, that they used to throw as a weapon abit like a frisbee many years previous, I believe.

I managed to find a bit of sprue type stuff that I drilled out and sawed a thin slice off, my tubing wasn't big enough.

Cheers
Geoff
