Hi Joel

Ref hat that is the only way it fits but looking at mine out of box you should IMO be able to change it but need to rework the head where it sits , adding putty

Personally I think it's fine as it is

Carl sculpted in keeping with the Detaille picture and it's very very accurate to it

You should get it and share how you get on with a new hat position be interesting to see

Happy benchtime

Nap

Thanks Nap, you have more knowledge of these things than me.

Geoff

Great job, Geoff. Can't wait to see another one of your project. Is that the only way the hat fits on his head, or can it be placed differently?

Regards,
Joel

Thank you Joel, I think Nap has answered it well plus there is a tapered four sided moulding on top of the head and and the same shape recess in the hat so to see if it could be fitted differently the head moulding would have to be removed to find out if it could be changed around.

Cheers

Bit late on this, but an excellent job done! Regarding the oils - applied wet on wet?
BR
Ian

No problem Ian please to have you aboard, and Thanks very much.

The oils on the face are wet on wet apart from the Payne's Gray which was applied after the rest had dried as I wanted the stubble to show and not blended in.

I wondered how this piece would translate from the artwork and you have answered the question with an excellent looking piece and great paintwork. So this would be considered 250mm? I always like when sometimes the piece is held in the hand in pics to give an idea of overall size. Keep up the good work.

Many thanks Wayne, I suppose it would be something in the region of 250mm, I tried to unload a pic of me holding it but it's not accepting my pics yet again.

Cheers
