Hi Colin,
I missed this one at the initial posting, visiting family in the UK.
Fantastic work in all captions Mate well done.
I especially like the the character that you have modeled into the face and pose.
Your brushwork, so far, is very good and I look forward to seeing the finished article.
Its great that you make and paint your own pieces, top marks my friend.
Cheers,
Keith

Hey Colin
WOW... From the bare bones piece I saw in Ajax to where you are with him now... just, WOW. I can only hope to come half as close to your sculpting and painting technique.
This is a beautiful... and meaningful work. Well done:notworthy:

Thanks for those kind words gents. Here is today's progress. I have undercoated his uniform. Still searching for the right shirt and tie colour. His hair isn't done yet and still need to complete facial details etc.

Merci - experience shows that he will look a lot better once dullcoated. Big dicing is a lot easier than 54mm dicing

Some more progress - I mostly finished his uniform - just need it to dry and wash with raw umber to get the more brown/yellow British khaki of WWI. The leather webbing is only undercoated. Still need to finish facial tones, grey hair, blue shoulder flashes, buttons, cap badge etc. But you get the idea.
