hi all,
i've bought a few kits from different companies and i've noticed the size differences. i've been reading a bit in the forum and understood that some 54mm are bigger than others. from what i saw, m-models kits are a lot bigger than say nemrod, and michael roberts napoleonic head set looks like 1/35 scale... andrea kits are something in the middle.

i'm planning to buy michael roberts Saracen Warrior 1190 kit and andrea's Arabian Warrior kit and i was wonderring if the size differences are so obvious between them too. anyone has an idea?

thanks

Since people are not always built the same way; some taller, shorter, wider, thinner and their proportions can vary. As long as its close, I don't see what the problem is. So long as certain key elements are similar. i.e. helmets, weapons etc for more modern figures. For medieval figures there is very little that would be similar since everything is "one offs".

I tend to agree with Mike so long as the figures from 1190 AD don't scale out to 6'6". There might have been a few giants that size back then, but not many.

I don't buy that many different makers and I buy 90% Great War era figures. Not sure this will do you any good, but I have noticed David Parkins and Model Cellar figures mostly tend to be a larger 120mm vs. Verlinden 120mm or Jon Smith 120mm. Just an observation - not a complaint.

All the best,
Dan
