Here's the progress of Sleepy Hollow. Got Ichabod's vest done as well as the scarf. The torso looks a bit wacky since only part of the vest will show and the coat will cover the rest of the torso.

The Hessian is making progress as well...I photographed it against a dark background so it's easy to see the white fibers sticking off it. Since the Hessian is essentially a body that's been in the woods, I wanted to show a rotting uniform that's tattered, falling apart, and covered in elements of the woods. I used Duro for the layers of the uniform that are falling off, and using fibers from a sanding pad (which I'll trim down), I worked them into the putty and will attach leaves and other debris to them. We'll see how it works out...

Got the base finished and primed as well. Can't wait to paint it.

And since the Hessian has to carry a pumpkin in his right hand, I made one of those, too.

More soon. Any thoughts or ideas on how this is coming along are always appreciated. Cheers, Stephen

Hey thanks Scott, I'm enjoying putting it together. I'm ready to get to the painting part for sure.

Here's an update. Time is even shorter lately with preparing for a move in a few weeks and a promotion at work, but sculpting is just about done on Ichabod and the Hessian. Got the arms and a lot of the coat done on Ichabod, and the gear like a haversack and cartridge pouches & straps have been added to the Hessian. Just an FYI, the Hessian does have slightly uneven arms and some things that are under normal circumstances rather incorrect anatomically...but in the interest of keeping him zombie-like, I thought this would help with the effect. Anyway, lemme know what you think about how it's coming along. Cheers, Stephen

Stephen late picking up on this one, brilliant effects on the Hessian and I'm looking forward to following.(y)

Cheers Ken

Thanks Ken. I hoped I could pull it off.

Cheers man. I hoped I could pull off the effect...should be painted along with Ichabod and the groundwork by the end of next month.

I haven't got a clue what it's about, but it looks well done Stephen.;)

Steve hit the nail on the head. The original book was pretty damn scary stuff back in its day.

Thanks for the kind words Steve. I am looking forward to painting this piece and trying out some new color ideas I've picked up from Calvin Tan. Should be a very dark and moody piece (fingers crossed).

Well, just some work with steel wool and a polishing pad and Ichabod Crane is done, too. Got the shoes finished with their buckles, added the collar, and added the last buttons to the breeches and the vest. Glad I'll be priming and painting soon. Lemme know what you think guys. Cheers, Stephen

Got some primer on Ichabod, so it's officially painting time. Glad to be done. Here's how it looks now. I'm pleased with Ichabod, as he has the oversized jacket, gangly arms, his green eyes, and completely terrified look, much as Washington Irving described. More soon.
Cheers, Stephen

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm glad to be done with the sculpting process and moving along to painting now. Should get some more work on that done this week, likely the base first and then each of the figures. Cheers, Stephen
