It's been a while again, but here are the last pics of my WIP on the Spanish noble.

I finally came to the painting of the damask pattern of the cape starting with some sort of a guideline in the form of the larger flowers. Then I proceeded by building up the rest of the pattern more or less randomly. Still, I made sure that the flowery elements were repeated in some way to create a coherent pattern.

In the next stages the highlighting and shading of the damask pattern will be tackled to bring it in line with the rest of the finished mustard yellow colour of the cape.

All comment are welcome!

Masterful work Johan; that looks superb. The symmetry of the design looks to be perfect.
Cheers mate

Hoi Johan,

Knap werk tot hiertoe. Ik zou het oplichten tot een minimum beperken en schaduw opbouwen met veel dunnen transparante laagjes. Werkt uitstekend met camo, waar je toch ook een patroon in verschillende kleuren moet behouden.

Groetjes,

Gino

Wow, I am really overwhelmed by all your nice comments. What a cracking way to start my new modeling year! Many thanks to all who took the time to react.

Claude: you must be clearvoyant o_O . There is indeed a mounted samurai residing on my workbench...

Gino: bedankt voor je advies. Ik werk sowieso veel met glacering voor de oplichting en schaduwing. Tot ziens!

J;)
