Hi all I have just recently joined the ranks of PF and have found it to be an excellent source for motivation, I have decided to post a couple of pictures of the Spartan Bust that I finished last week, I enjoy seeing other peoples work and learning from it so thanks to all the Youtube demos and V.bench articles that have helped me with completing this Bust.

Terry,

This has been painted really well ,love the armour effects and the way the plume has been done very effective , also the shield design is very tightly done .

Thanks for sharing ..look forward to more from you

Welcome to PF with your very well painted bust.
I totally agree with all the comments regarding the armour, helmet and shield.
While looking at the front view I expanded the photo and found a superb pair of eyes.
Very well done.

Cheers,
Andrew

Many thanks to everyone for the positive feedback, having forced myself back into the hobby after a more than 20 year break (was not in jail by the way lol) and struggling with ageing eyes and trying to remember how I used to tackle Metals, Leather, Cloth and those faces etc, this bust was my second subject that I have completed since my return in Christmas 2015, I had to over paint almost everything in order to improve the end result so I cant say that I have full control of my painting, I had to adopt the attitude that if something did not end up looking exactly how I had imagined it then I just had to leave it tidy and move on to the next stage or I would be painting the same bust forever.
As the saying goes, we learn from our mistakes and this is how we improve as we advance with our Figure collections and having the facility to present your completed work on this forum for others to see and comment on certainly provides inspiration, so to all who are reading this remember a kind word to any modeler will give them that vital boost to progress.
Adrian you are wright about painting with passion, I nearly through this bust off the wall on several occasions, the eyes being one of them lol.
Regards
TERRY
