I received an email from planet member, Pepe Gallardo and he also sent photos of one of his Gold medal winners at St Vincent. Here is the body of his email:

Hi Guy,
I would like sharing with you a couple of thinking about Sant Vincent Show this year, IMPRESIONANTE (in Spanish), AMAZING, many ,many figures , about 1700, the level very High, until the point that the Standard category look like Master category, and a very good atmosfere of modelling. We had had a very good time all together, speaking and looking about figures.
Many Spanish people get awards, golds, silvers etc.

And I have got two gold medals, one in Master Painters, an another one in "Le Jamais vues" with my new little scene untittled "Battle Honours" (after Troiani). I hope you like it and feel free to put the photos on PF, in order to share with the others menbers.

I decided to post the first photo on the news / home page and the other photos will follow in the next posting.

I really admire the composition and grouping of these figures. These appear to be slight conversions on several manufacturers figures. Excellent resourcefulness.

Great Painter

"les jamais vues" is the class where you can see for the first time somes figures. It's a small class for the number of figures but the level is very very high : Christian Petit, Philippe Parison, Cannone's brother, G Speranza, D Cartacci, M Numitone, K Kariotelis, P Gallardo ....

Truly a magnificent piece of art by one of the World's top painters

Outstanding Pepe :)

Ray ;)

I love to see dios that are taken from paintings. The simple conversions make this also all the more interesting and since I am currently working on a dio that also focuses on Confederate colors this one is a real treat. Congratulations on the gold.

Many many thanks to all friends in Planet, I am very happy to know that you like the little diorama and this is a very good reason for continue working in new projetcs.

About the tree , on the top has a couple of birds and a nest with eggs.

Now, I am working in a article for magazines.

All the best from Spain.
Pepe.

I was there and so Pepe myself getting the medals and admired his work in flesh . What more to say , than he is one of my favorite painters all over.

Congratulations

Is there a link for the official St.Vincent picture gallery ? Does anyone knows?

Thanks
