Hi Peter, 'stippling' refers to the application of any type of paint by using a 'stabbing' motion vertical to the subject as opposed to brushing. You use a round brush that has had the point cut off to leave a flat end. Press the end into your paint then 'stab' the flat end onto a piece of paper etc., to remove the excess, then stab the brush onto the area you wish to stipple. I use this technique a lot for horses, weathering and 'five o'clock shadow'. You can find lots of videos on YouTube. Hope this helps.

Ron

Hi Peter, I lived in San Diego about 7 years ago. I'm up north now in Thousands Oaks, which is about 45 minutes west of Hell A. Do you belong to the local IPMS chapter? They do a great job of keeping the hobby alive down there. I have just started painting again, and so everything is new and shiny...LOL. I just bought the Young Miniatures DAK crewman and have started cleaning it up. I repositioned his field cap and re-sculpted the necessary areas. Redefined the figure and getting it ready for priming. I just received order of Josonja's artist acrylics. Should be fun. I will post some pictures as I go along.
