On the bench at the moment this great sculpt in the 1/6th range by Carl Reid for Stuart at Stormtroopers.
I'm waiting for the 'boat cloak' to dry before progressing further on the lights and darks before I'm happy.
The illustration in Osprey's Wellington's Peninsular Regiments (1) shows an officer in winter dress. At the start of the campaign 'scarcely any two officers were dressed alike. Some with grey braided coats, others brown, some liked blue' The boat cloak was a garment taken on campaign by most officers.
It's a cracking figure and a pleasure to paint......thanks for looking , take care and all the best Mike. (y)

Mike, I was wondering when you would have this painted. It has your signature all over it, an excellent job.

Hi Mike

That certainly didn't take you long to get painted ....I've just looked at my copy ..twice !

These releases are really nice and great value and you've certainly painted this well , keeping to the reference as well

Of course painters have the option of variation on the facings and the coat , with a tiny rework on the belt plate

Is it possible to see a picture of all the releases you've painted in this series

Thanks for sharing

Always great to see your benchtime

Hi Kevin and thank you for your comments.... I'll get this chap finished and then get the others together for some pics....(y). Mike

Very nice Mike, you have a way to make those colours pop.
A bit easier on the palette than your recent works on the Bonaparte busts.. ;-)

Super job so far Mike. Like the addition of the button above his shoulder belt to portray the double breasted tunic from the reference picture.
