Hello again to all and I hope you are having a Good New Year?

I have plans to attend S and L for the first time this year and possibly bring some of my work down to enter into competition.
Anyhow, my wife and son will also be coming but she is not looking to go to the show, so a nice hotel with stuff to do etc would be good in Darlington?
We would be arriving on the Friday and leaving on Sunday, having been in Northumberland for a break, visiting castles etc.
So if anyone has ideas, pointers etc for me they would be more than appreciated.

I take it, the show is of a reasonable size?

Hello Michael,

I can highly recommend the Bannatyne Hotel. I usually stay there for the show and there is a good chance Bill Horan will be booked in there. It is not expensive and the food is good. The shops are just around the corner so your wife will be able to amuse herself with your credit card while you enjoy the show. I'll be there from Friday to Sunday, so happy to buy you a beer.

Suggest you book now as I am sure with the attraction of BH this year it might get busy.

Thanks for info, I forgot to mention though, because we will have been on holiday Mon to Fri we will have our Border Terrier with us and would need a dog friendly hotel to suit.
