Here's a new buy...a 1/35th TANK resin figure of an SS grenadier at kharkov..got this guy through 1st guards here in toronto. The detail is great...crisp crisp casting..had to hollow out a new tamiya helmet though..the kit piece came with a pourblock right up the inside...everything else is stock.

Wow, that guy looks pissed!!! The fleshtones really look like the guy is quite cold - good job. I've heard lots of good things about TANK miniatures. Care to share with us a critique of the piece?

Looking really good, and I have to concur with Pete, he sure does look slightly ticked off. Great job on the painting of the face, really shows a lot of character!

Does TANK have a website? Never really heard about them but I kind of like this figure.

Sure...

Cleanup was minimal, very little flash (especially in those notorious stupid spots for pour blocks!) so right away i was impressed. The casting was very crisp, no broken parts (ie. pocket flaps, fingers, etc). The resin was a little brittle, and i managed to snap off the grenade in the right hand (the arm that isn't throwing). THe helmet's pour block was inside the helmet, and damn near impossible to remove, so i just opted to dremel out a plastic tamiya helmet (sacrificing some detail on the TANK version) and throw that on. All in all, easily cleaned up.
The detail is exceptional. Ripped knees, actual holes in the leather webbing, which seems to not be there on most figures, lots of slings for gas mask tin, mp40, the breast pockets are animated, not just flat. The fur looks accurate on the hood. The pockets are sculpted nicely around the grenades in them

I give this figure (and another i'm working on at the same time) an A+, just be a little careful with the little resin bits....!

(oops forgot...www.1st-guards.com (1/35th section) or www.tank-models.ru)
i got mine through Andrew from 1st guards (he's in toronto)

These figures look to be the natural successor to Wolf and Hornet for me. I have a dio planned, with Markus Lack. We're going to use the full Kharkov range for a StuG III dio. I can't wait to get my hands on them now. Have you seen this little fella Alex?

Yea i took a look at the whole line..
I got to see ALL the german tank riders (kharkov) on a tiger at my last hobby meeting....Andrew from 1st guards happens to live in toronto, so he imports the line..
They're really really nice...made me wanna touch some armor...the feldpolizei are really nice too

Thanks for all the coments...i tend to shade the eye socket with SS-black brown instead of a black or flesh tone...i put a little too much but it worked out well..i'll get a photo of the finished uniform in a little bit
