Metin thank you for your comment. Glad you like it. Its an exceptional bust. Costa in some strange way acrylics demand more work but are actually faster in the long run than oils. And here is some steps on the flesh. Reworked the face and tried to give it a weary look cause a friend of mine said he looked very fresh for a pirate. Hope he shows tired now...

Some progress on the bust. Finished the belt this morning after alot of effort and i m finaly satisfied with the flesh. So now its time to move on to the intimidating hat. Hope you like it.

Chris thank you for your comments. The truth is that seeing the pics i d say is about 60% of what i see in front of me. Part of it is due to the fact that the pics taken with my iphone. Gotta save me some money and buy a proper camera at some point.

Hi Metin. Glad you like it. As i wrote in a previous reply i use josjona's and Turner acrylic gouache so i dont know if the recipie will work on an other brand. But for the white shirt i used a color named smoked pearl which is an offwhite hue with a touch of sepia wich in this brand is like burnt umber with yellow ochre. Highlighting was done adding more titanium white until pure white was used for the highest lights and mainly edging. The first shadows were done adding abit more sepia in the basic mix and for the second and third i adde sepia and just a pinch of black to cool the mix down and dont come up with a brownish white. I really hope this helps. If you want i cant take some pics of the actuall colors so that you have a reference.

And after two nights work i finally came to the point where i dont feel i can do anything better with the hat. Black is a color that still troubles me. When to stop highlighting? What color to use for highs to get a natural look? Even how to photograph. So for this one i tried to use as many variations as i could, including a blueish, brownish and redish tone. Please feel free to suggest any changes.
