"The Drum Major"
1/9th scale resin - 4 parts
Sculpted & Painted by Nick Majerus

Drum 01.JPG

Nick Majerus, owner of Regimental S4 Miniatures, recently released his 36th figure in his ever growing line of figures. Undoubtedly his best military figure to date. Cast in 1/9th scale resin with the kit consisting of 4 resin parts.

The above top photo show the careful packing Nick does with all his figures and actually placing each styro-foam chip into the box for maximum protection of the kit during shipping. The bottom photo shows that each part is bagged separately and placed into the box.

Above you see various views of the separately cast head and bearskin helmet. Excellent detail especially where the left side plume lays in to the bearskin.

Above you see the four sides of the separate cast head and bust torso dry-fitted together with a perfect fit.

Above is the front and back of the left hand holding the baton. This part has a resin pin on the back side that corresponds to a locator hole on the front bottom left of the bust torso. Again a perfect fit when dry-fitted.

The 4th part above is the bust plinth that locates on the bottom and then to a wooden base for display.

Conclusion:
Excellent detail overall with this being, to me, Nick's best Military sculpting to date. Minimal clean-up required prior to painting. Highly recommended.

This is a great bust at a great price. For those of us who do mostly British Army, it should be easy to convert this to a Scottish soldier, say a Black Watch sergeant at Waterloo. Just convert the baldric to a sergeant's sash and the baton to a half pike.... :D
