With the second Gladiator movie appearing i thought i could give Russel a try.
Face almost done, it is the YM buste.

that is looking very beautiful already,is that dark brown hair John,because I must paint also dark brown hair,and no idea what to do???
but it's going to be a very nice busts (y)

Great start, and looking forward to following.
Fingers crossed, they'll be some new figures/busts based on the forthcoming film.
Apparently no.2 is based on the character Lucius from the first film.

Hi Mario,

the base is done in pure black. Then light strokes of chocolate brown, not a drybrush but it approaches this technique.
Vallejo camo black brown is also a nice color.
Do not dillute the paint too much and be gentle. Then to finish go to the edges of the hair in the face area with a 25% sunny skine tone mixed with chocolate brown. Again not a hardcore drybrush but it comes close. Painting haircuts and a beard is sometimes done to with a hardcore drybush which is still the Verlinden way of the 80’s i guess.
Just try it and do what for you feels good.

thank you very much, I didn't think about chocolate brown,I was with vallejo germ.black brown,but gonna try to do it like you say this evening
and see what I get,thanks a lot (y) :)

Great face painting there, love the colour variation you have got in there it's very subtle and very effective.
