Hello roc,

At last ;) , new picture's. It is stunning. What a beauty. I like just like Guy your flesh tones.
I am so querios about how you do all that nice shading and highlighting. I painted my last figure also in oils. But i cannot say the shades and lights come out so beautifull as yours.
Specially the blacks are a pain in the @#$ . It is a great hat, (like a sombrero) but it must be black. How to paint shadow and highlights.
Sorry i asked in this tread. but i gotta know what you know.

I hope you gonna finish this one before christmas

Keep coming the pictures

Marc

Hi Marc, thanks , I appreciate it.

BLACK

My approach to black is mixing Allizarin Crimson + Thalo green.

Highlights - add more Allizzarin Crimson to the base.

Shadows - Windsor Blue.

Another approach is mixing lamp black with a little Naples yellow for the base.

Highlights - add more Naples yellow to the base mix.

Shadows - pure Lamp black

I hope this helps.

Cheers.
