Hello Everyone. I've been working on this all winter. Ron Tunison's "The Last Meetimg". The piece is approximate 200mm scale and depicts the last meeting of Lee and Jackson before the battle of Chancelorsville where Jackson was killed. A lot of research and difficult painting as it is a one piece casting and very heavy. I've learned to paint around corners. Still much work to do. I am happy with the way Lee's horse Traveller is turning out so far.

Excellent job so far, i have a soft spot for Confederate subjects, so your work is very pleasing to see.

Painting round corners...

Somewhere I have a modelling book from the 60's that says 'if you can see it you can paint it'.

Easier said than done, so good luck with the spaces between the riders (I think I'd take a hacksaw to the base then re-join it  )

BTW: great start with the dappled grey, now let's see the other (inner) side (y)

Great paint job so far.You can be proud on traveller so far.Im looking forward to the updates as i have some projects of the ACW of my own.keep it up

Very ambitious effort Len! Looking good(y) Painting this large a scale takes some time and effort and talent. Looking forward to seeing the project finished. Appreciate you sharing it with everyone. Nicely done on one of my favorite Tunison pieces !
