Completed this Figure earlier this year. As many of you know I like to create a wee story in my minds eye around the figures I paint. Struggled to come up with a concept for this one and then I remembered the Re-enactors at the Medieval Bozner Market. http://www.alpenwelt-karwendel.de/en/history-bolzano-market
held every 5 years in the pretty little Bavarian town of Mittenwald.

Cheers

(I'm still crap at taking photos)

Fantastic Del! Love what you've done with this smashing little figure. I have one primed up myself and ready to go.

Hello Derek: Oh my, this is one of those kinds of presentation
that an old dude like me can really go off the deep end. Oh
gee, there is so much artistic and creative energy here. Not only
the figure and the structural material behind, which includes
an arch (and we all know how, for some reason, an architectural
"Arch" has such a calming influence on a composition such as this)
that includes so many light tones of the colours you selected for the
figure itself. Oh my goodness, I am sure all the Planeteers are so
weary of me mentioning "Colour Harmony" all the time. But this
lovely vignette is full of it in spades. And for me, which includes the
colours of the name plate on the base, this piece just sings of
creative energy. Obviously, Derek, you are one hell of an artist.
Congratulations on a beautiful piece of artistic endeavor. My
goodness!!! :)

Ron, Steve, Gary, Bob and Rick. Thanks guys for all your comments.
Sometimes it's the figures you have no intention of painting that when you do them give you the greatest pleasure.
To be honest I only intended to paint the feather to get the shade right for another piece, but then just got caught up in it.
Any of you who've got it should roll your sleeves up and crack on. The face, clearly based on the actor David Thewlis, is a great exercise in working with the shadows naturally created by the sculpt.
Thanks again (y)
Got another couple finished in May to post over next couple of days.

This is a properly good story and scene Del,
It takes a lot of thought and care to present in this way,

And obviously, you put a bit of yourself into every creation as an artist.
Hence the boozy expression I suppose? :D

Love it !

Oh,this is lovely del, what a great little scene to display the minstrel, great work mate

Thanks guys. The face just lends itself to that look. With the big schnoz you've just got to put a dab of red on it.
Brian these days I'm trying to create quite 'busy' little stories on relatively small bases.
Cheers

The watch makes him steampunk. Seriously this is a beautifully staged and painted little piece. Looks great.

Colin and Zane, thanks very much guys.
It never ceases to amaze me how far we've come with almost instant communication.
Not so long ago no-one except a handful of friends would have seen this.
Now through the web we get comments, support and suggestions from every corner of the world for our posted work. Having said that you bunch of colonials should still be paying taxes to us ;)
