Colin and Zane, thanks very much guys.
It never ceases to amaze me how far we've come with almost instant communication.
Not so long ago no-one except a handful of friends would have seen this.
Now through the web we get comments, support and suggestions from every corner of the world for our posted work. Having said that you bunch of colonials should still be paying taxes to us ;)

And you should be happy that we're expanding your Empire.:ROFLMAO:

A very well painted figure in a perfect setting.
Love the 'outside the box' concept.

Cheers,
Andrew

What can i say that's not already been said Derek. This is a cracking little scene, that only you could have thought of.

Matthew, Dennis, Andrew, Brian and Gerard.
Thanks guys for your comments I always like a scene :D
Over the years there's been plenty of inspiration from the work of other guys here.
One amongst many favourites was Dennis's futuristic scene with the McDonalds sign (y)

I love so much this figure and also appreciate a lot the way you represent it. The digital clock is really a superb idea, just the kind of things that a re-enactor could forget... beautifull indeed

Marvellous work Del and love the original story line.

Cheers.

Huw

Thanks Huw. I like to look for links between generic figures and actual historical events and places. Matthew mentioned the violinist, I've got 2 and will get busy on one of them
Until I visited Mittenwald I was unaware that it was a famous centre for the manufacture of violins. http://www.chambermusicians.org.uk/mittenwald_violin_making.htm
I am now thinking some sort of link to Nocturna Miniatures Violinist and the area. The figure's costume is kinda early 16th to mid 17th century approx so maybe a bit early for a link to Mittenwald but maybe not to Fussen (Luwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle). I've got a half way worked up graveyard scene where the violinist is playing over a grave ....... thinking.......
Black Band survivor of the Battle of Pavia remembering fallen comrades. Just need to see if I can get the dates to work :)
There's a wee insight into my thought process when I look at a figure ............. I need to get out more :woot:

Thanks for an insight into your thinking behind planning which is invaluable. I am a people watcher and often study how they interact as individuals or in groups, and also watch horses a lot.

You aren't alone - I should also get out more often by the dark cool den in the basement summons me... I like graveyards too...

Del, if you're thinking violinist and graveyards, look on you tube for a piece of music called Dance Macarbre, I think it's by Saint Saenes but I'm not sure. I think that music will inspire you on that theme.
Best wishes, Gary.

Great work all round Del , congrats and well done
Cheers
Al

Beautiful work Del.
First class from start to finish.
As always your atmospheric setting is superb.
Very well done
Keith

Thanks very much Al and Keith.
When I do my groundwork / scene I always keep Brian Smith's (Smudger) work in mind.
He sets a pretty high benchmark.(y)
Cheers
Derek
