I thought I’d stay with the cinema theme, again I chose a scale Collectables piece, this one is based on the 1932 film staring Boris Karloff in The Mummy.
Id seen the film a few times and I’ve always been a Karloff fan so it was definitely something I wanted to paint, although Karloff is not mummified for 90% of the film,I loved the look he portrayed with the fez he wore.
So although not strictly accurate as per the film, this bust is cast in his mummified state, but one scene towards the end,he transforms back to a mummy with the fez.
I sculpted the fez and the tassel with magic sculp, the rest of the bust was just straight forward painting, with no assembly required.
As with all my stuff, the bust was base coated in acrylics and finished in oils.

Hi Brian

Another cracking piece of painting , like the wY you’ve done the bandages , fleshtones look spot on and the flash of colour with the fez adds to the presentation

Always good to see your artwork , this being no exception

Do look at supporting the competitions see link below

Look forward to seeing more

Have fun at the bench
