I've just about finished the main torso and head, the brutal honesty of the blown up digital image shows a few issues that need a final touch (hands, beard, eyelids, but the overall result is what I was attempting. I'm leaving this to dry and look at, whilst I start on the Swordfish..

I am following with much interest. My torso is done, too. I went back and forth a few times with the overall color combo. It should be rather easy but it took me a while to figure out a particluar color scheme I really liked. Tomorrow, I will start his face.
Looking forward to your finished piece!
Cheers, Sven

having denied the carpet monster for a considerable time, tonight it intended to collect... I knocked the fisherman over, and a trip down to the floor, resulted in a small piece of the brim of the sou'wester being broken off, and disappear into the unknown...:grumpy:. I've painted the damaged area, and am treating it as an old and battered sou'wester.
Finished the beard, and tidied up the eyes. Added the bottom end of the rope to his hands. The swordfish has been base coated, and after a few washes will be attached to his back.

Thanks Sven. Certainly looking forward to your take on this, sounds like you've gone for a more colourful version.

Hi Henk

Flesh looks really good ...nice to see what can be achieved in the cab of a truck ...lol

The work on the jumper has worked really well

Ref headwear .....I would definitely get the putty out .....it will be worth it .....the sculpt needs it .....feed that carpet monster with scraps .......I feel your agony

......or see Scientific about a replacement , treat this head as a exercise

Happy benchtime

A lot of blues and, yes, his hat is yellow. So some colors have been used.
Fotos will follow. I like the blue eyes, you have painted.

Thanks Sven, glad you like the eyes. I really need to start experimenting with other colours than blue though..:D

I know Kev...I know... I blame 40 years building tanks, and covering mishaps under mud or camouflage. I'll be getting the green stuff out later, I won't bother Scientific Models for a replacement, it was my clumsiness after all, and it's a limited edition.

Ha, the carpet monster will be hungry... after sweeping the floor, I found the piece. Of course, I already added a bit with green stuff, but I e removed that, and glued the original piece in place. I'll post pictures of the finished piece later.

My wife has put a dark rug under the desk in my office, so stand a better chance of starving the furry monster
