Last novelty in PEGASO MODELS
We talked a bit about in different thread.
Some could have bought this figurine in preview
A return to 54mm.
And above all a return to the first Empire
JOACHIM MURAT

Sculpture by Andrea Jula, a luxury model like their figurine of NANTSOUTY
This figurine of JOACHIM MURAT is directly inspired by the picture of Baron Antoine-Jean Gros, paint in 1812 just after the accession to the throne of Naples by Napoleon's brother in law

About Jochim MURAT, there's a lot of books, but for his uniforms, you must have :
Murat: les uniformes de la légende

What is this?Pegaso doing 54mm again?I guess miracles do happen...or not.I have a lot of bitternes for the way this company (at least in my mind-personal opinion my respected peers no need to start a war over it) tried to lure the whole modelling world to doing exclusively 75mm with motives not entirely honest (again, strictly personal opinion and nothing against 75's as a scale but as a tendency). Now they're back to the roots.Well, never too late to see the light I guess... or not.

Oda.

Right there with you brother Mortier.Lets hope they will put their old 54mm line back in circulation.

Oda.

Not one for me personally but I'm sure it will be warmly welcomed by many. Also good to see Pegaso doing a 54mm piece again (as much as I like their 75s and 90s).

I think you're being a bit hard on them Oda. They probably found that for whatever reason, they weren't shifting enough 54s so they just decided to rejig their business model and focus on larger scales instead. I think a lot of guys like 75mm because it's an ideal "compromise" scale: small enough to remain relatively affordable (90mm Pegasos being twice the price), but large enough to hold a nice level of detail without being so much of a strain on the eyes - bearing in mind that there are probably a lot more grumpy old geezers and middle-aged men with failing eyesight in the hobby these days than there are eagle-eyed kids coming through!

You could be right Steve, maybe it's just my hurt feelings talking but Pegaso has always been a leading company and it went through a lot of trouble in advertising and marketing exclusively large scales for quite a while. As I said I have nothing against any scale (my GA can attest to that),only against tendencies towards monopolization of the field. My favourite scale is 54mm and I'd like to be able to find a lot of new 54s every month just as people who like 75 more would like something similar etc.I think that there should be something for us all.My bitterness comes from what I perceived to be (the emphasis on "I" please) a campain to have 75mm obliterate any other scale ( and a lot of companies followed the example of a veritable giant like Pegaso) but again-as you said-I may be a little harsh on the fellows and it's all in my mind.I just hope that the guys at Pegaso see how enthusiasticly their new release has been received so far by PF members and go on to revive their 54mm range.

A very, very nice figure. I had been increasingly disappointed with recent offerings from Pegaso, but this is a must=have figure. Wow.

A much-modelled subject, although very well done. Realistically, how many models of Murat do we really need? Repeat question for Napoleon, Rommel, Patton, etc. Plenty of worthy military leaders out there who are not available in model form. It is good to see Pegaso returning to 54mm, but I hope to see some more originality in subject choice. As I said earlier however, it is an excellent figure.

I and several other PFers got it at Ingolstadt and it's part of a series of first empire personalities. Peagaso told me that a Lasalle will be next but they also have plans for more 75mm figures. They are trying to satisfy both camps I think.

Cheers

This entered the grey army in April before the box art was done , although it is 54mm it is quite big as is most of Pegaso's stuff
This is a mighty figure which will take the utmost pre paint and stage construction with careful planning , there are many parts to consider which to pre assemble or pre paint .

Look forward to the next in the series " lasalle without the baggy pants I believe .

Even if you never paint it antique it and it will still be stunning .

Unfortunally it is 90 mm and for me to expensive. Otherwise I should have paint it.
