I'm very pleased to see that Piersergio Allevi is releasing a new 54mm figure in his Il Volto del Comando series. Lt. Presley o'Bannon USMC.

It's looking good, I wonder if we'll see a companion figure for the Halls of Montezuma? We live in hope.

The standards Piersergio has set by releasing his own figures are extremely high.I am a loyal follower of his "Age of Elegance" series and whatever i have received from him is as close to perfection as it can get regarding sculpting, casting, fitting and boxing.
This new release is trully a neglected and fascinating subject.

Oda.

I received my US Marine in the post this week. As usual with this series, the modelling and casting are outstanding. You get a choice of bases; land or sea. The land base comes complete with a Mameluke sword.

One of the great pleasures of collecting these pieces was following Piersergio's Facebook page. First of all he showed us pictures of his new release. My reaction was usually "Wow!", followed by a feeling that I shouldn't buy it as I hadn't painted the last one. Then, after a week or so, he would unveil the box art painted by the great maestro, Danilo Cartacci. That's when my reaction was "Wow, Wow, Wow!" and I just had to have it. In comparison, my painted version would look like it had been painted by a blind man. But we can always dream...

Sadly, we won't be seeing any more of these. But you might like to see the painted version of Lt. Presley O'Bannon by Gustavo Gil Campos. A very nice bit of painting, in my opinion. And very much in the Cartacci style.

Have a look at the other pix: https://www.facebook.com/piersergio.allevi/
