I recently met with a very talented man called Antony Halls who lives in Herefordshire. He showed me a bust that he had made himself of the tenth Dr Who incarnation played on TV by David Tennant. I was amazed by this bust, which is approximately 1/10 scale. He sent me a resin copy when he was happy with the original which was an excellent casting with no air bubbles or mould lines whatsoever. The hair and facial features are especially fine. I have rarely seen such a clean casting.

I wanted to do this excellent bust justice so it has taken me a couple of months to complete. I used acrylics and oils on this piece. When I was happy I purchased a 50mm x 50mm base from Historex and used a piece of aluminium tubing to connect it all together. Antony tells me this is a one off and wont be available to purchase. Personally I think its one of the best likenesses Ive ever seen and I am honoured to have painted this for him.

This is how the bust turned out.

Hi John

So nice to have you do a thread here , been a while but very welcome .

That's a nice looking sculpt there , certainly a good likeness you should tell Anthony to join PF and share his sculpting

As for your painting ...very nicely done ...like the Fleshtones and the presentation

Hope all is well

Best wishes

Hi Everyone.
I would like to thank John for posting his paint-way of the 10th Doctor, David Tennant bust that I sculpted. He is a very skilled artist. I have worked as a commercial sculptor and artist for over 25 years. It is always nice to do something for myself. This was an exercise more than anything. Prior to sending a white cast to John, I did my own paint-way on the same bust. There are so many differences in each artist approach to painting the same piece. I paint using Humbrol oil paint. Here are a few pics of my paint-way. Thanks for all your kind comments as well.

Very nice painting in particular the 5 o'clock shadow.
