I recently met with a very talented man called Antony Halls who lives in Herefordshire. He showed me a bust that he had made himself of the tenth Dr Who incarnation played on TV by David Tennant. I was amazed by this bust, which is approximately 1/10 scale. He sent me a resin copy when he was happy with the original which was an excellent casting with no air bubbles or mould lines whatsoever. The hair and facial features are especially fine. I have rarely seen such a clean casting.
I wanted to do this excellent bust justice so it has taken me a couple of months to complete. I used acrylics and oils on this piece. When I was happy I purchased a 50mm x 50mm base from Historex and used a piece of aluminium tubing to connect it all together. Antony tells me this is a one off and wont be available to purchase. Personally I think its one of the best likenesses Ive ever seen and I am honoured to have painted this for him.
This is how the bust turned out.
I hope you like this and look forward to your comments.
